BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY

BY Ken Blue         Reverend Jeremiah Wright attracted the attention of Americans when He said he did not pray for God to bless America, but rather to “damn America.” To add to the concern of many was the fact that President Obama was a member of Jeremiah’s church for at least twenty years. We ask how can two walk together unless they agree?  “Reverend Wright has been a national leader in promoting theological education and the preparation of seminarians for the African-American church. The church’s mission statement is based upon systematized Black liberation theology that started with the works of James Hal Cone.” Wikipedia    James Hal Cone is the architect of Black Liberation Theology. Cone does not build his views of the world and God from Scripture, but rather, his view of social conditions determines how he views God, and what God’s plan and strategy is. “His theology developed further in response to critiques by black women, leading Cone to consider gender issues more prominently and foster the development of womanist theology, and also in dialogue with Marxist analysis and the sociology of knowledge.” Wikipedia: James Hal Cone.  He bases much of his reasoning from the book of Exodus and the oppression of Israel by Egypt. He sees this as a parallel to the black man’s condition in America; as God was the enemy of Egypt, and destroyed it, so He is the enemy of the “white devils” in America, and the system that keeps blacks disenfranchised. Accordingly, his theology was heavily influenced by Malcolm X and the Black Power movement. Martin Luther King, Jr. was also an important influence; Cone describes King as a liberation theologian before the phrase existed.  Jeremiah Wright thinks that the God of the Bible and the god of Islam are the same. He believes the only mission of Jesus was to liberate the oppressed Jews from their oppressors, Rome.    Wright sees the Zionist Jews as the world problem, and the oppressors of the Palestinians. Zionism is the belief in a Jewish state and homeland. Although Wright uses the Bible when it suits his liberation theology, he does not believe the Jews have a right to Jerusalem or the land promised by God throughout the Old Testament.  Wright accuses America of being a government of lies and deception. One wonders, with what kind of government he would replace it. I agree with Rev. Wright that the American Indians, and the blacks were mistreated, and I see no justification for it. However, that part of history is behind us, and the destruction of America today will never rectify it. In addition, Has Reverend Wright overlooked the fact that blacks, Indians and other cultures have practiced slavery for centuries. In fact, Israel possessed slaves throughout their Old Testament history.  Is Wright purposefully ignoring the reign of terror under Idi Amin? Wikipedia Encyclopedia says, “Amin’s rule was characterized by gross human rights abuse, political repression, ethnic persecution, extrajudicial killings, nepotism, corruption, and gross economic mismanagement. The number of people killed as a result of his regime is estimated by international observers and human rights groups to range from 100,000 to 500,000. During his years in power, Amin shifted in allegiance from being a pro-Western ruler enjoying considerable Israeli support to being backed by Libya’s Muammar al-Gaddafi, the Soviet Union and East Germany.” Amin’s government was not only one of the vilest on earth; according to some, he practiced cannibalism on his enemies. However, we never hear one word from Wright or Jessie Jackson about the atrocities in Africa between the black tribes.  All men have wicked hearts, and regardless of their color or the form of government established, that government will never be better than what we have in America. The only government that will be a rule and reign of righteousness is the one that will be established by Jesus Christ when He returns. And, by the way, its headquarters will be in Jerusalem, and its domain, the Abrahamic grand, called Israel.  Liberation Theology is the same old man in a different suit. Its goal is to overthrow America’s government and replace it with another. Take a long look at other countries that have been “liberated.” Castro liberated Cuba. Hitler liberated Germany. The Communist liberated China and Russia. Liberation Theology is a road to a reversed slavery and oppression.

From the Desk of the Imamaa: Salaamun Alaykum my dear brethren, may Al-Elah grant you peace and safety during these troubled times. I hope that those African Americans who have taken a position that guns and violence are the best way to deal with the historical and systemic abuse and mistreatment our people in America, will now see the “Folly” of their position and recognize that Black Militancy is a waste of time, misdirected energy, and is “Foolish” and Naïve”. These black so-called liberation groups, including the New Black Panther Party, need to think seriously about abandoning such non-productive rhetoric, like “Black Power”! I have spoken to our community several times about what is necessary to wage a “Guerilla Insurgency” in America, I have shown you clearly that African Americans do not possess or have the “Homogenous Community” or “Common Sense of Oneness” to fight any kind of armed conflict with America. African Americans are divided in their loyalty to themselves and to America, in addition, African Americans do not have a “Base of Operations”. African Americans do not have the resources to maintain and armed struggle against the American government. I have spoken repeatedly to this community saying that if we are to be truly revolutionary and bring about a real change in the African American community we must, Repatriate back to our ancestral homeland in West Africa, Resettle our women, children and our elderly in a safe environment, free from terrorist attacks from “Homegrown American Terrorist and Racist”, and from “Foreign Born Terrorist”, like the ones currently responsible for the bombings and “Lockdown” in Boston. I have told this community what “Black Power” is, African Americans will have “Black Power” once we have built the first buildings and roads in our new country, The New United Republic, on the day that our Black Power Company Electric Company brings our electricity on line and “Switches on the Power” to run the Nation, that’s “Black Power”! The Honorable Elijah Muhammad (BBUH) said, “What we long for will finally appear”, and that is the Diin (Trust) of Allah and the Fulfillment of the Promise to our ancestor Ibrahim (Abraham) for us to inherit the “Land”. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad also said, “Everything written in the Bible is written to give us a picture of what is happening today”, the Bible states, Genesis 15, Verses 13-14, “Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will be called slaves there, and they (White Americans) will afflict them four hundred years. And also the nation (America) whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions”. Brothers and sisters America is under “Divine Judgment” for its crimes against humanity, for crimes against those Africans (and their descendants) illegally purchased and kidnapped from Africa, who were murdered, raped, robbed, criminally deported from their original places of Domicile in Africa, who were victims of “Ethnic Cleansing”, and “Wholesale Genocide”. But not just for Americas crimes against Africans and African Americans are they being punished, they are being punished for legitimizing Homosexuality (which is condemned in the Scriptures and is punishable by death only), they are being punished for legitimizing “Abortions”, for your information over 20,000,000 black babies have been aborted since the founding of Planned Parenthood, this does not include the millions of white and Latino abortions. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad said, ““Blessed are those who forge first to bring the way for others”, join us brethren as we gather our people to move to the “Promised Land” we welcome you, and remember he also said, ““He (Allah) has placed a fountain in the House of Israel; drink”, we are the True Aramaean Israilites (Israelites) spoken of in Deuteronomy 26-5-8, “And you shall answer and say before the Mar (Lord) your Elah (God): ‘My father (Ya’cuub so-called Jacob) was a wandering Aramaean, about to perish, and he went down to Egypt and dwelt there, few in number; and there he became a nation, great, mighty, and populous. But the Egyptians mistreated us, afflicted us, and laid hard bondage on us. Then we cried out to the Mariah (Lord God) of our fathers (Abraham, Ishmael, Issau), and the Mar (Lord) heard our voice and looked on our affliction and our labor and our oppression. So the Mar (Lord) brought us out of Egypt with mighty power and with strength, great terror and with signs and wonders”. Allah only chooses one to give the Light, and the Message of Deliverance, the One whom He has selected, the One who is a legitimate heir and descendant of Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaaq (Issau), Ishmail (Ishmael) and Ya’cuub (Jacob), DNA Test Proven . Our great ancestor the Honorable Elijah Muhammad warns us “Envy and jealousy will not make you successful”, and I add nor will being contemptuous, ignorant, stupid, scared, lazy or hateful make you a success. The Truth is the Way and the Light, may Allah bless and keep you in both! Salaamun Alaykum

Dear sir, I have posted your article and I believe I understand your motivation and theology. The comment by, “The Honorable Elijah Muhammad also said, “Everything written in the Bible is written to give us a picture of what is happening today”, the Bible states, Genesis 15, Verses 13-14, “Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will be called slaves there, and they (White Americans) ( This is a gross perversion of what that Scripture says and means) will afflict them four hundred years. And also the nation (America) (Again, this is using the Bible for your own twisted agenda) whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions”. I think you should know that God was talking to Abraham about their 400 years in Egypt. If America is the subject, you still have 200 years to go. Here is how the text really reads, “13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; 14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. 15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. 16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.” Genesis 15:13-16. So, when you quote the Word of God, you should be true to the text, rather than handling the Word deceitfully. “But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:2.

Also, there are far more blacks in central and south America who were brought there by the Spaniards. Why is it that the USA is the only target of criticism? I am also sure that you know different tribes in Africa invaded other tribes to capture slaves to sell to anyone who would buy them.
I do not believe that Africans should be slaves to anyone. Nor, do I believe the rest of the world should be forced to accept Islam or be murdered, or become a slave to a Islamic government. I pastored a church for 40 years, and had several blacks as members. They are among some of my best friends. America appears to have more sin than other countries because it has freedom, and crimes are published. My guess is that there is just as much immorality and crime in Africa. It just isn’t made known to the public. For years we have been seeing and reading of the genocide in Africa by other Africans.
So, I think you should clean up the crime in Africa, before you assume America is under the judgment of God. Perhaps Africa is also under judgment, which accounts for the famine, rapes, aids and murders. Just perhaps. .
